Tattoo Removal Portland

About Us

It might seem strange that a tattoo removal shop loves tattoos but we do. We believe in the artistry and tradition that lies behind body art and that is why we have set out to embrace the beauty and authenticity of ink. Our goal is to offer a service that can get rid of the tattoos that you don’t want so there can be space for ones you do. We believe that the only real constant in life is change. The freedom to create, to think different and to lead unique lives means that every now and then we might require a clean canvas.

The Untattoo Parlor is located in the Gadsby Building on the corner of NW Hoyt Street and 13th Avenue, in the the Pearl district of downtown Portland. We specialize in professional tattoo removal in Portland, Oregon and the surrounding area. We are experts in removing tattoos safely, effectively, and with minimal discomfort. Our goal is to make the experience of removing your tattoo as comfortable and easy as possible. The Untattoo Parlor offers local anesthetic to minimize any discomfort during treatment and a trained staff of registered nurses and a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon to ensure optimal results.

NATHAN KEMALYAN, M.D. FACS

Dr. Kemalyan attended medical school at UCLA. This was followed by general surgery training at OHSU and at the University of Washington. Along the way, Dr. Kemalyan collected credentials in general surgery, cell biology and burn surgery. He began his practice at the Oregon Burn Center in 1995 where he later became Medical Director until his departure in  2017. Dr. Kemalyan left the Burn Center to turn hobbies at the margins of his work into a new career- laser treatment of burn (and other) scars, as well as the design/prototyping of burn surgery tools for low-income countries. Dr. Kemalyan volunteers for an NGO (www.InStove.org) that produces and distributes safe and efficient wood-fired cookstoves to replace open fire cooking in the developing world. This project offers a backdoor opportunity into burn prevention where expert care for serious injuries does not yet exist. Dr. Kemalyan’s introduction to the world of tattoo removal comes as the result of his longstanding friendship with The UnTattoo Parlor’s co-founder, Dr. Vangelisti. In addition to being one of Garrett’s closest friends, Dr. Kemalyan’s expertise with laser scar revision is an ideal complement to the world of laser tattoo removal/lightening.
When he isn’t thinking about skin, Dr. Kemalyan is out in the back forest of his home turning a patch of Ivy-choked woods into a biodynamic paradise with his wife Kathleen, son Alex, 5 chickens, 2 cats, a bedraggled parrot, and a 4-legged Aussie from down under.
