Permanent Makeup Removal
Treatment for Permanent Makeup Removal
Permanent eye makeup promises lasting beauty and a fuss-free routine. When the results are good, cosmetic tattoos help you put your best face forward 24-7. But when things go wrong, even if it’s by just a fraction of an inch, it’s a blow to your self-esteem.
Permanent makeup removal can help. People seek tattoo removal when the pigment in the permanent makeup drifts, changes hue or simply doesn’t look right. The Untattoo Parlor uses up-to-date laser technology to remove various types of ink, including permanent eye makeup, lip liner tattoos and tattooed eyebrows.
You don’t have to live with a look that makes you unhappy. Perhaps your cosmetic tattoo was applied by an unskilled technician. Maybe it’s the wrong color. It could look smudged, crooked or overdone.
How Permanent Makeup Removal Works
Lasers safely remove the pigment of cosmetic tattoos and permanent makeup. Other methods may not work as well, could leave scars or cause pain. Our trained, medical staff includes registered nurses and a board certified plastic surgeon. While you’re in our shop, we’ll look after your health while working on removing your cosmetic tattoos.
Our technicians use the Cutera Enlighten laser for permanent makeup removal, cosmetic tattoo removal, and other types of laser tattoo removal projects. The tattoo removal laser breaks pigment with bursts of light that reach beneath the surface of the skin. After a treatment, your body will flush out the ink, eventually eliminating the particles from your system.
Before permanent eye makeup removal, we anesthetize your eyes with drops. The procedure is painless. Your corneas are protected from the laser with stainless steel shields. Your eyes will not be harmed during the procedure.
How Long Does It Take To Remove Permanent Makeup?
Tattoo pigment removal may require more than one session. Because permanent makeup, and other cosmetic tattoos cover a small area and is generally a single color, you may need only one procedure.
Treatments last about 20 minutes. Your permanent makeup will fade after the treatment, continuing to lighten for several weeks. During a follow-up visit, we’ll assess the changes and recommend further treatments if needed.
How Long Does It Take to Recover From Laser Treatments?
Most people return to their normal routines immediately after a treatment. Some people experience minor irritation from the procedure.
Eyebrow Pigment Removal Pricing and Process
Before treating an entire brow, we recommend coming in for a free consultation and allowing us to do a test spot with the laser. The test spot will give us an idea if or how the pigment may oxidize or change color and will allow us to craft a treatment plan for removal or lightening of the pigment. We recommend scheduling your first appointment for a full treatment about 3-4 weeks after the test spot has healed.
The picosecond lasers we use to remove permanent and semi-permanent pigment do not affect the hair follicles. Immediately after treatment, the hair may temporarily turn a whitish color, however, this reaction usually subsides after a few hours and the hair returns to its normal color.

Semi-Permanent/Permanent Eyeliner Removal
Semi-permanent/permanent eyeliner pigment usually fades more quickly than tattoo pigment on other areas of the body. On average about 3-5 treatments are required to remove the pigment entirely and most patients see changes after the first treatment.
After numbing eyes drops are administered, aluminum eye shields are placed in the eye sockets in order to fully protect the eyes from the laser. Depending on how much ink you have, the whole process usually takes anywhere from 10-15 minutes. The numbing eye drops do not affect your vision and most people find the numbing effect wears off in under an hour.
