Tattoo removal is a process that requires patience. There are many variables that effect how quickly and effectively tattoo ink will fade. Density of the ink, color of the pigment and skin type are just a few. At The UnTattoo Parlor we see most tattoos disappear in 6-9 treatments spaced about 8-12 weeks apart.
How Laser Tattoo Removal Works
The laser makes it possible for your body’s immune system to carry away the tattoo ink by breaking it down into smaller and smaller fragments. Once the particles of ink have been broken down enough, the body’s white blood cells are able to gradually dispose of the pigment.

Treatments range from 2-20 minutes. Several sessions may be required. Small, single-colored tattoos are the quickest to remove. They may need only a single visit. Complex, large and multi-colored images take more work and may need multiple sessions.
Some tattoos lighten after the first treatment. Most are gone or nearly gone in 6-9 treatments. Your tattoo will continue to fade for 6-8 weeks. We schedule treatments 8-12 weeks apart to give the ink time to lighten. We’ll then evaluate your results to determine if more treatments are needed.
What Is Recovery Like?
After a treatment, you can resume normal activities, including showering and exercise. You may have temporary soreness, redness, swelling or blistering. A thin wound dressing protects your skin while it heals. You can remove the dressing after a few days.
Immediately after treatments you can resume normal activities, including showering and exercise. You should avoid heat and sun for a few days, and it’s a good idea to take it easy as your body recovers.
The Untattoo Parlor offers a professional environment supervised by experienced medical personnel. We have registered nurses and a board certified surgeon on staff. Our Pearl District office is quiet and relaxing. Our caring staff looks after you, making sure you’re comfortable during your visit.

Sometimes tattoos show results immediately, and sometimes, due to things like ink density and age, it takes a few sessions to really show a visible difference. The pricing listed above are estimates; all pricing is determined on a case-by-case basis during a free consultation. Pricing is determined by the quantity, density and placement of ink and the approximate time it will take the nurse to treat your tattoo.

Our office is located in The Gadbsy building on the corner of 13th and Hoyt Street in the Pearl district. We share a building with Yo-Yo Yogi, Barista, and the River Pig Saloon, among others. The easiest way to find our office is to enter the building through Barista, walk past the coffee shop and head up to the 2nd floor using the staircase at the back of the hallway.
Parking for our office is on the street. Most of the time, you can find a spot within a block or two of our office. We recommend using the app Parking Kitty to easily pay for parking, our zone number is 1002.
Cancellation Policy
People and professionalism are at the heart of what we do. Our staff is composed of experienced, licensed nurses who will go the extra mile to show up for their patients and to provide them with the best care possible. If an appointment is missed or canceled late, this cancellation not only takes away a spot on the schedule from another patient who might like to come in but also directly affects the salary of our nurses and the overhead of our business.
The UnTattoo Parlor asks that if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment please do so at least 24 hours in advance. Any missed or late canceled appointment will be assessed a fee. If you were scheduled for a Free Consultation, the Missed or Late Cancelled appointment fee will be $100. If you were on the schedule for a 30 Minute or a 1 Hour Treatment, the Missed or Late Cancelled appointment fee will be half of the amount of the total cost of your treatment. If you are a first-time patient, the Missed or Late Cancelled appointment fee will be half of the amount of your total treatment price proposed in your consultation. If you are assessed a fee and if we attempt to run your card on file and it does not go through, the Missed or Late Cancelled appointment fee must be paid in full before proceeding with your next visit.
The only way to cancel an appointment is online through our website (the website accepts cancellations up to 24 hours in advance), by leaving us a message over the phone or by sending us an email. We know that life happens however we do not discuss our late cancellation policy or make decisions regarding fees over the phone. If you feel you were charged unfairly, we are happy to listen. Please feel free to send us an email with your concerns or make an appointment to come into the office to discuss in person.
